my dad came over yesterday and today to help paint our living room. katie has been wanting a new color and kinda hinted that it would be great if i could make that happen while shes gone. so we made it happen. we painted over the bright golden yellow color with a faded seafoam. looks nice!

with kobe sick and throwing up before the game, lamar odom took over and scored 28 pts. to give the lakers a 10 pt. win over the cavs. it was the cavs first loss at home. lakers are 6-0 on their road trip.

You know you're getting old when...(Part 2)

...you crap your pants like a lil baby. So, the other day, I'm not feeling so good in the morning after I drop Katie off at work. Serious rumble! Nasty diarrhea! You name it! Later that afternoon I'm feeling much better and I think the pain and torture are all over. So, Abby wants to go swimming in the pool in our complex and I say, "Sure I'm feeling better, should be pretty safe". We get to the pool and first thing I do is make sure the doors to the restrooms are unlocked - they are! Yes! They're other families there enjoying the facilities and its a beautiful day and everything is hunky-dory. I'm in the clear...I think. Well a lil bit later we're almost ready to get out and go home when I feel some serious aftershocks, rumble, rumble! At this point I'm thinking, "OK, it feels like just a fart, but I had a tough morning so we could have a lil some-some make an escape from you know where. I tell Abby I'm headed for the bathroom and as I wade towards the steps to exit, the rumble gets worse, and those terrible ass-cramps start. And I'm like, "Uh-oh, I'm in trouble!" I get out of the pool OK, and make the bee-line for the restroom squeezing my cheeks like there IS NO TOMORROW! Now, I'm wearing slightly out of fashion Walmart swim trunks that have served me well for about 3-4 summers and they're a lil tight (I've gained 1 or 2 lbs. since I bought them) and soaking wet. So, to get these puppies off with any speed is basically not an easy task. I get the bathroom door with tears coming out of my ducts and get inside and slam the door. (The family sitting next to the bathrooms thought I was mad for some reason). I slip n' slide as fast as I can towards the toilet and turn around and start tugging on those stupid trunks with all my might and get them to about half way down my thighs when Mt. St. Helens erupts with all her fury. And as most of you know, when it starts, theres nothing you can do to stop it but try somehow to get out of the way. When it was all said and done it looked as if a chocolate bomb had went off in the restroom. (Actually, this is super embarrassing retelling this story). Well, after I clean up as much as I can (It was really gross and I felt bad for the next guy!) and soak my trunks in hot water from the sink for about 15 minutes, I put back on my semi-poopy swim trunks, and walked out of that restroom and looked straight at Abby in the pool and said, "Kid, we're outta here!"

For those of you who may or may not have heard the news, but my beautiful, smart, fun wife broke her ankle at jr. high summer camp on tuesday, july 31st. Oh yeah! She broke her ankle. It wasn't tripping on some stairs or a rock on a lil hiking trip, no, it was skateboarding at the awesome Thousand Pines Skate Park! And here we were planning to leave that night after dinner and she breaks her ankle at around 4:30 PM. So, we quickly pack up our stuff and drive down the mountain and get to the hospital at 5:30 PM. 4 1/2 hours later in the scary san berdo emergency room we are finally done and we were on our way home at 10:00 PM. Yea Camp! I love camp!

The other day as I drove to Walmart in my Ford F250 truck I carefully listened to her hit song "Before He Cheats". The words "That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive,carved my name into his leather seats...I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights,slashed a hole in all 4 tires...Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats", sent shivers up my spine! Those haunting lyrics scared me...that would be horrifying if my truck was abused like that! It stayed with me the rest of the day. That night I think I even had a nightmare about my truck being scratched. Here it is: Women care most about being lied to and cheated on; Men care most about their transportation.

I poop once a day on average. When I have to go, I have to go! I can't hold it. Usually I need to go between 8:00 and 9:00 am. I like to poop in our master bathroom (the nice large, oval-shaped toilet seat) at our house. When I'm working, sometimes that means waiting at home till I need to go. But I have to be at work by 8:15 am-ish. You see my dilemma. I HATE pooping at my school in the dirty ol staff restroom. I know, what a rough life I lead.

Even though late August/September is the worst time of year because I have to go back to work, its the best time of year because of football season. I love all levels! NFL, college, high school, etc. Its all good. I love watching any game, going to any game, watching highlights of any game, fantasy football. I love it all!

As Abby and I finished a fine afternoon at the Happiest Place On Earth, our tram to Mickey and Friends Parking Structure was coming to a complete stop when we heard the wonderful words "Please exit to the driver's left-hand side, thank you", we did as we were told, climbing off the tram to make our way to the parking structure. When all of a sudden we heard the employee scream "SIR PLEASE EXIT TO THE DRIVER'S LEFT-HAND SIDE! SIR! SIR! GET BACK IN THE TRAM BEFORE YOU GET HIT BY THE NEXT TRAM! SIR! as I clamly walked toward the parking structure waiting for gasps and screams to erupt from the crowd, I finally looked back and observed that the confused gentlemen had finally got the message. WOW! that was close!

Later that night at the local Circle-K, as I was filling my wife's car up with gasoline (Note: awesome husband). When I went inside to pay up, a massive commotion was taking place between non-english speaking gasoline buyer and non-english speaker Circle-K employee. (Both of different ethnic backgrounds - What can I say, I live in a very diverse community). It was quite the scene trying to figure out where the employee put the buyer's $50 and on which pump. The 12 people in line waiting for the dust to clear didn't find it too funny. I was laughing.

My wife is an awesome cook! Everything she makes tastes great! I, on the other hand, can make ice tea, oatmeal, and sometimes mac n' cheese. Katie does, however, like to have me be part of the meal making process. Its kinda like when you play softball and have someone really bad on your team, you put them at catcher or right field. Katie lets me grate the cheese for our meals. If I had my hand on anything else I would probably destory it. But I must say in my opinion, over the years, I have become one decent cheese grater.

Katie, Kurt, Matt, and Mike did a excellent job at the conference. And Boracay was amazing! We need hit that island again.
